What it is
The Performance Programme combines two Menhancements treatments into a single course: linear focused shockwave therapy, and the D-Shot, which uses platelet-rich plasma prepared from your own blood.
Shockwave is an energy-device treatment. A handheld applicator passes low-intensity acoustic pressure waves through the skin into the target area under a set protocol. Nothing is cut and nothing is injected.
The D-Shot starts with a small blood sample taken from your arm. It is spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma, and that plasma is then injected into the target area. Nothing synthetic is added; the material comes from you.
Running the two together is the point. They are sequenced across a course, so the programme is designed to support erectile function as one piece of work rather than two separate appointments. What that does for any individual man varies, and we will not pretend otherwise.
Everything happens in a private treatment room with one practitioner. Nobody else is in the building for your appointment, and nothing about it is discussed outside that room.
Who it’s for
- Men noticing a change in erectionsFirmness, consistency, or how long things last. If that has changed for you, this is the conversation to have.
- Men who want a structured courseThis is not a one-off appointment. The programme runs across several sessions with a review built into it.
- Men who would rather start non-surgicallyShockwave is non-invasive. The D-Shot uses your own blood. Neither involves surgery.
- Men who want it handled privatelyOne practitioner, a private treatment room, and a clinic where nobody is surprised by the question.
- Men aged 18 and overWe treat adult men only. Suitability is confirmed at consultation.
None of that gets decided on a web page. It gets decided in a private room, and if the answer is no, you hear it there.
What a course looks like
- ConsultationHalf an hour with somebody who does this every day. You say what you have noticed, we go through your health history, and we work out whether the programme is a sensible fit at all. No commitment either way.
- First sessionShockwave and the D-Shot are delivered in the sequence agreed at consultation. Allow up to an hour in clinic.
- The courseSessions continue across the course you have chosen, three or six, spaced to a schedule set with you rather than fixed in advance.
- ReviewWe check in as the course progresses. If it is not doing anything for you, we would rather know and say so than keep booking you in.
- AftercareWritten aftercare is given in clinic after every session, and the clinic line stays open to you between appointments.
What it costs
- Course of 3 sessions
- £350
- Course of 6 sessions
- £900
One payment for the whole course, taken when you book. Which course suits you is agreed at consultation, so start there rather than paying up front. Anything optional is priced separately and talked through with you before you agree to it.
File 04 / Honest expectations
What we will not tell you.
Most clinic pages only print the good part. Here is the rest of it, in the same words we would use in the room.
It does not work for every man
Response varies between individuals. Some men notice a change, some notice very little, and we cannot tell you in advance which you will be. Any clinic that says otherwise is selling.
It is not fast
This is a course, not an appointment. Where changes happen at all they tend to be gradual, and they are reviewed across weeks rather than after a single session.
We do not diagnose
Menhancements is an aesthetics and sexual-wellness clinic. We do not diagnose conditions and we are not a substitute for your GP. If something about your health has changed, start there.
There are sensations to expect
Shockwave is usually described as a tapping or tingling. The D-Shot involves injections, and some men get short-lived tenderness or bruising. All of it is talked through before you agree to anything.
We will turn men away
Not everyone who enquires is suitable, and not every man should spend money on this. If that is you, we will tell you at consultation.
Questions men actually ask
What is the Performance Programme?
It is a combined course of two Menhancements treatments: linear focused shockwave therapy, and the D-Shot, which uses platelet-rich plasma prepared from your own blood. The two are sequenced across a course of three or six sessions and delivered in clinic.
Is the Performance Programme available in Manchester?
Yes. The programme runs from our Manchester clinic at 6 Minshull Street, M1 3ED, and we also have clinics in Wilmslow and Leeds. Ask about availability at your preferred clinic when you enquire.
Does it hurt, and is there any downtime?
Most men describe shockwave as a tapping or tingling sensation. The D-Shot involves injections, and comfort is talked through with you beforehand. There is no planned downtime, most men carry on with their day, and written aftercare is given in clinic after every session.
How much does the Performance Programme cost?
A course of three sessions is £350 and a course of six sessions is £900. That is one payment for the whole course, taken when you book. Which course suits you is agreed at consultation, so start there.
How many sessions will I need?
The programme is offered as a course of three or six sessions. Which one suits you, and how they are spaced, is agreed at your consultation rather than decided in advance.
How soon would I notice anything?
There is no set timeline and we do not promise an outcome. Where men do notice a change it tends to be gradual, and it is reviewed across the course rather than after a single session.
Do I need a referral?
No. You book a private consultation directly with the clinic. If we think you should speak to your GP before starting, we will tell you at that consultation.
