What it is

The procedure, described plainly. Nothing is promised here that we would not say to you in the room.

The D-Shot is a platelet-rich plasma treatment for men. The material is prepared from a small sample of your own blood, on the day, in the clinic, and nothing synthetic is added to it.

A practitioner takes a blood sample from your arm, much as you would have taken anywhere else. The sample goes into a centrifuge, which spins it fast enough to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the rest of the blood.

That plasma is then delivered to the target area under a set protocol. Because it came from you, there is no donor material involved and no synthetic filler.

The intent is to support the local tissue response in the treated area. Your own biology decides what the plasma is like on the day, which is one reason response varies between men, and between sessions for the same man.

Everything happens in a private treatment room with one practitioner, start to finish. Allow up to an hour, most of which is preparation rather than the treatment itself.

Who it’s for

Framed around erectile function and performance. It is not a diagnosis, and nothing on this page replaces a consultation.

  • Men noticing a change in erectionsFirmness, consistency, or how long things last.
  • Men who would rather use their own materialThe plasma is prepared from your blood on the day. There is no donor material and nothing synthetic.
  • Men considering a combined courseThe D-Shot is often run alongside shockwave as the Performance Programme. Consultation decides whether that is right for you.
  • Men who are comfortable with needlesThis treatment involves a blood draw and injections. If needles are a problem for you, say so at consultation and we will talk it through.
  • Men aged 18 and overAdult men only, and suitability is confirmed at consultation.

None of that gets decided on a web page. It gets decided in a private room, and if the answer is no, you hear it there.

What a course looks like

One appointment, front to back. Some men have it once; some have it as part of a course.

  • ConsultationA private appointment to talk through what you have noticed, your health history, and whether the D-Shot is a sensible fit for you.
  • Blood drawA small sample is taken from your arm at the start of the appointment.
  • PreparationThe sample is spun in a centrifuge in clinic to separate the platelet-rich plasma. It takes a few minutes and happens while you wait.
  • TreatmentThe plasma is delivered to the target area under a set protocol. Comfort is talked through with you beforehand, not sprung on you.
  • Aftercare and reviewWritten aftercare before you leave, and any follow-up is agreed with you rather than assumed.

What it costs

Single treatment
£695

Priced per treatment. Whether one is appropriate for you, and whether it is better run alongside shockwave as the Performance Programme, is decided at a private consultation rather than chosen from this page.

File 04 / Honest expectations

What we will not tell you.

The parts a clinic page usually leaves out. We would rather you read them here than find them out on the day.

It does not work for every man

Response varies between individuals. Some men notice a change, some notice very little, and we cannot tell you in advance which you will be.

Your own biology is a variable

The plasma is made from your blood on the day, so what goes in is not identical from man to man, or from one session to the next. That is inherent to the treatment rather than a fault in it.

There are needles

A blood draw and injections. Some men get short-lived tenderness, swelling or bruising afterwards. All of it is explained before you agree to anything.

One session may not be the whole answer

Some men have the D-Shot once, some have it as part of a course, and for some it does nothing. We would rather review it honestly than book you in again by default.

We do not diagnose

Menhancements is an aesthetics and sexual-wellness clinic. We do not diagnose conditions and we are not a substitute for your GP. If something about your health has changed, start there.

Questions men actually ask

If yours is not here, ask it in the enquiry form. It comes straight to the clinic.

What is the D-Shot?

It is a platelet-rich plasma treatment for men. A small sample of your own blood is taken and spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma, which is then delivered to the target area under a set protocol. Nothing synthetic is added.

Where can I get the D-Shot in Manchester?

At our Manchester clinic, 6 Minshull Street, M1 3ED. We also have clinics in Wilmslow and Leeds. Ask about availability at your preferred clinic when you enquire.

How long does a D-Shot appointment take?

Allow up to an hour. Most of that is the blood draw and preparing the plasma in clinic; the treatment itself is the shortest part of the appointment.

Does the D-Shot hurt?

It involves a blood draw and injections. Comfort is talked through with you before you agree to anything, and some men get short-lived tenderness or bruising afterwards.

Is there any downtime after the D-Shot?

There is no planned downtime and most men carry on with their day. Written aftercare is given in clinic before you leave.

Can I have the D-Shot with shockwave therapy?

Yes. Run together as a single course they are our Performance Programme. Whether that combination suits you is decided at consultation.
